Our Mobile Applications

11.1 My Appress (bundle id: com.appress.app)

My Appress is the companion app for Appress customers to manage their mobile apps, communicate with our support team, and receive notifications. Sign-in with an Appress account is required.

The app collects: your email address, display name, support ticket content, chat messages, image attachments you upload, and your APNs/FCM push notification token. The app requests camera and photo library permission only when you choose to attach an image to a support ticket; images are uploaded only when you explicitly send them. The camera feed is not recorded or transmitted otherwise. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.

11.2 Appress Preview (bundle id: app.appress.preview)

The Preview app lets builders see their configured WordPress mobile app live on a real device before publishing. The app has no user accounts and collects no personal information. It stores a paired-apps list and a random device identifier locally on your device; neither is transmitted to Appress. The camera is used only to scan QR codes; the feed is never recorded, saved, or transmitted. The app communicates directly with the WordPress sites you pair with; Appress is not in the middle.

11.3 Customer-built mobile apps

When you use Appress to build a mobile app from your WordPress site, the resulting app is published under your own developer account, with your branding. End-users of that app interact with your WordPress site, not with Appress. You are the data controller for your own end-users and should publish your own privacy policy describing what your app does with their data. This Privacy Policy does not cover customer-built apps.

12. Appress WordPress Plugin

The Appress WordPress plugin runs on your own WordPress site and stores app configurations, push notification campaigns, device tokens of your app users, preview pairings, and biometric session tokens — all in your own WordPress database, on your own hosting. Appress does not pull this data into our servers. The plugin only contacts Appress when you trigger an action such as requesting a build.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. For changes that materially affect your data rights, we will email you at the address on your account.

14.
